A demand that Jews be forbidden to operate refreshment stands along public highways was submitted to the government of Lithuania today by the Verslas, an anti-Semitic organization.

The demand is based on the pretext that the Jews operating refreshment stands along the roads “are forcing the non-Jewish travelers to observe Jewish holidays.” To substantiate this argument, it is pointed out in the demand that during last Passover Jews operating refreshment stands at bus terminals “forced” passengers to eat matzoh or go hungry.
