First returns coming in today on the results of yesterday’s plebiscite of the Zionist Revisionists, on the question of whether or not to form an independent World Zionist Organization, indicate an overwhelming vote in the affirmative.
The plebiscite was carried out throughout Europe, Palestine, the United States and Canada.
The following returns have thus far been received from cities on the continent and in Palestine by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency Office here:
VIENNA VOTES ‘YES’
In Vienna 1,467 voted for the establishment of the proposed independent organization, and sixty-four voted against.
In Warsaw, 5,415 cast votes, of which 5,257 were for the creation of a separate body. The complete returns for all of Poland will not be known before tomorrow.
In Jerusalem the first returns show 812 votes for and 24 votes against establishing a separate Zionist Organization.
In Tel Aviv, 3,832 voted for and sixty-seven against.
THE RESOLUTION
The resolution which members of the Revisionist Party were called to vote upon read:
“The Zionist Revisionist Organization proclaims the immediate establishment of an Independent Zionist Organization and directs the Executive Committee to convene in December, 1935, its Constituent Congress on the basic principle of a Jewish State in Palestine and on the basis of a Herzlian Shekel.”
LOCAL REVISIONISTS VOTE FOR SEPARATION
New York Revisionists displayed great interest in the plebiscite. The returns for New York City show that 1,090 voted for the resolution and 62 voted against it.
The vote of other cities in America and Canada will be tabulated and published upon receipt.
