26th Federation Day to Be Held in Brooklyn

SIGN UP FOR THE JTA DAILY BRIEFING

An old Brooklyn custom that has become a tradition among Jews of the borough and among many Jewish communal leaders in Manhattan will be observed Thursday when scores of judges, magistrates and attorneys, manufacturers, bankers, brokers, merchants, and others desert their business for the day and devote their time to observance of Federation Day.

Federation Day, the closing event of the annual Spring campaign of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, will be observed for the twenty-sixth consecutive year this Thursday. Supreme Court Justice Harry E. Lewis is chairman of Federation Day this year.
