Hitler Given Warning by Dr. Schacht

A warning to Hitler that a new wave of anti-Semitism in Germany may spoil the efforts of the Nazi government to obtain a loan abroad, was given by Dr. Hjalmar Schacht, Minister of Economics, it was learned here today in diplomatic circles.

Dr. Schacht emphasized that it will be difficult for Germany to pull through the Winter if this loan is not obtained.

A mob threatened to storm a Jewish department store in Falkenberg yesterday when the owner was charged with refusing to reinstate a discharged “Aryan” employe. The owner of the store was arrested.

HESS PROBES MERCHANTS’ ORIGIN

Rudolf Hess, Nazi Minister without portfolio and Hitler’s right hand man, started an investigation today into the racial origin of the owners of the Wertheim Department Store, one of the oldest and largest in Berlin. At the same time Minister Hess issued an order to discontinue the propaganda in the Nazi press against the Wertheim enterprise.

An official announcement published today discloses that 12,207 “non-Aryans” were dismissed from the German Post Office system for their Jewish descent. Of this number, 10,069 were civil service servants, and 2,138 were classed as laborers.
