The S.S. Kosciuszko of the Gdynia-America Line which was so popular with Jewish passengers made her last trip in the New York-Gdynia service when she sailed last week with a large crowd of passengers of all nationalities.
The S.S. Kosciuszko will be transferred to the Constanza-Haifa service of the Line and become a running mate of the S.S. Polonia.
The S.S. Pulaski of the Gdynia-America Line which left on July 1st carried many Jewish passengers, among them a large group of excursionists of the Jewish National Workers Alliance who went to visit Poland and Palestine.
Max Manischewitz, a member of the firm of B. Manischewitz Company, who arrived on the Berengaria this week, expressed his admiration for the excellent Kosher service rendered by the Cunard aboard the ship.
RESORT NOTES
Among those scheduled to compete in the first annual Sullivan County table tennis championship at the Flagler Country Club is A. Krakower, former eastern champion. Finals will be staged on July 28. In the meantime Sol Schiff, world’s table tennis champion, is receiving entries at the New York Table Tennis Association, 1721 Broadway. Another newcomer at the Flagler is Leon Kiaroff, dramatic baritone and character actor of the Jewish stage. He has joined the Flagler players for the entire season.
