Assuring the Jewish population that it was seeking protection from the authorities against anti-Semitic outbreaks, the Jewish Community here issued an appeal today to all Jews in Danzig to conduct themselves with the utmost calmness and restraint.

The proclamation was issued in connection with the anti-Jewish demonstration which took place here the other day, when fifty lorries filled with Nazis paraded through the streets, and stilletos were brandished at Jewish passersby.

The Jewish Community urged that no protest be launched against this demonstration, as any protest on the part of the Jews will be interpreted as a provocative act and may have serious consequences.
