The German press today reports the arrest in many cities of Jewish wine dealers as a result of a special campaign being conducted throughout the country in connection with the holiday wine season. The arrests were based on charges that the Jewish merchants sold the same brands at varying prices to different customers, a practice in violation of the Government price laws.
The Frankfurter Zeitung reports the arrest of Simon Saemann, owner of the largest wine firm in Frankfurt-am-Main on such a charge. Similar reports from other cities are appearing in the German press daily.
