A Warsaw court today dismissed a libel action brought by the publishers of the Brockhaus Conversations Lexikon, Leipzig, a well-known German encyclopedia, against a Jewish physician named Dr. Lastman based on statements he had made in which he called the work “worthless.”

The court accepted Dr. Lastman’s defence that the expulsion and the confinement in concentration camps of eminent German scientists renders any scientific work in Germany worthless.
