Condolences from Mahatma Gandhi, Indian nationalist leader, were received today by the family of the Marquess of Reading, former Viceroy and Governor-General of India. During Lord Reading’s tenure of office he dealt firmly with the Nationalist movement and frequently consulted with Gandhi.
