Order was restored throughout Syria today after nationalist demonstrations had resulted in the loss of six lives, four in Damascus and two in Aleppo. The principal bazaars in Damascus remained closed.

Anton Saad, president of the Syrian Nationalist Party, was sentenced yesterday at Damascus to serve six months in jail as a result of his anti-French activities. Rioting by nationalists in the last few days has caused many deaths.
