Julius Streicher, known as Germany’s high priest of anti-Semitism, launched an open campaign against Minister of Economics Hjalmar Schacht today, ordering the Nazis in the district of Franconia to disregard his orders against molesting Jews in commerce.

” Instructions issued by the Reichs Ministry of Economics are invalid for the Nazi Party, ” declared Streicher in his newspaper, Der Stuermer.

Addressing a large meeting at Nuremberg, Streicher repeatedly demanded continuation of the war against the Jews. He declared that “whoever cannot follow our steps in this direction had better give up his brown shirt.”

He added : “These in our ranks who patronize Jews constitute the greatest danger for us.”

Dr. Schacht has ordered that Jews not be molested in the field of trade in commerce until legal definition of their status is announced.

The Hirsch Company of Frankfurt-am-Main, a large Jewish-owned metallurgical firm, is one of the Jewish concerns revealed in German newspapers today as having been sold out to “Aryans.” Others listed are the E.Weil Company of Saarbruecken, the Plaut Department Store at Uelzen, and the Levenstein Lamp Manufacturing Company at Hagen.

Many firms, anxious not to be considered as Jewish, are advertising their ” Aryanism”in connection with current bargain sales.
