Support of the Bishop of Durham’s view that the “present rulers of Germany” are those “ultimately responsible” for the assassination of Wilhelm Gustloff was voiced today by the Academic Freedom Committee, headed by Lascelles Abercrombie, British poet.

In a letter to The Times, the committee demanded a British boycott of the Heidelberg anniversary celebration.

The Bishop declared at a meeting of the West London Synagogue Association: “I am convinced that history, when passing verdict on the happenings in Germany will hold the present rulers primarily responsible for the violence to which they have driven their victims.
