A Joint American Council for Boycott to extend the boycott of German goods and services will be established according to an agreement between the American Jewish Congress and the Jewish Labor Committee, it was announced today. It will comprise ten representatives of each organization.
The Council will formulate a national program for “joint efforts to strengthen the boycott, including picketing, organization of vigilance committees, joint conferences, etc.”
A national conference of all the affiliated organizations of the American Jewish Congress and the Jewish Labor Committee will be held shortly to launch the program. Efforts will be made to secure the assistance of organized labor by resistance to the unloading of German goods from vessels, and the refusal of labor in shops or concerns where German raw material, half finished goods, or machinery are being employed.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Joseph Tenenbaum, chairman of the A.J.C. Boycott Committee, and by B. C, Vladeck, Chairman of the Jewish Labor Committee.
