The number of German Jews emigrating to Central and South America has risen to the point where it equals the number leaving for Palestine, according to a report made public today by the Hilfsverein der Juden in Deutschland, Jewish relief body. It said the organization is aiding an average of 300 Jews a month to emigrate to Latin American countries.

In addition, the report stated, increasing numbers are leaving unaided. Although no exact figures are available, it is known that many Jews are leaving for Central and South America at the behest of relatives already settled there, the report said. Prospects for settlement were described by the organization as “most optimistic.”
