The entire Nazi press assailed France for her handling of the Syrian situation, printing sensationalized accounts of recent Arab nationalist uprisings. Reichsfuehrer Hitler’s Voelkischer Beobachter, chief organ of the Nazi party, attacked the League of Nations for not intervening, accusing the League of discrimination against the Arabs.

The Beobachter also charged that the League had used undue severity in forcing the Nazi-controlled Danzig Senate to remove violations of the Free City’s constitution.
