The Frankfurter Zeitung, took issue with recent instructions issued to judges to place the program of the Nazi Party above law and precedent. The paper asserted that judges must be guided by existing laws rather than by party instructions.
While declaring that there should be no interpretation of the law except on the basis of the Nazi viewpoint, the paper suggested that judges should, before issuing a verdict according to the party program which contradicts written law, consult a higher political authority “to avoid lawlessness.”
