It was officially announced that Oxford University would not send a delegation to the 550th anniversary celebration of Heidelberg University in Germany.
Professor Gilbert Murray issued a statement to the press concurring with the decision on the ground that forty-four “non-Aryan” professors had been dismissed from Heidelberg.
