Police patrols were required to prevent tie-ups as a great number of Jews turned out to attend funeral services yesterday or Rabbi Joseph Rosen, world-famed authority on Talmudic law, who died on Thursday. He was known to Jews as the Rogatchewer Gaon (sage of Rogatchev, U.S.S.R.)

Rabbi Rosen was eulogized at ceremonies in the Schiff Synagogue, after which his body was sent to Dvinsk, Latvia, for burial.
