It was officially announced today that for the first time Jews, including war veterans, will not be permitted to vote in the plebiscite on March 29 in which the German people will be asked to register approval of the Hitler regime.
It was explained that Jews can no longer vote since, under the legislation enacted by the Reichstag at Nuremberg last Sept. 15, they have been stripped of their citizenship.
A declaration by Dr. Wilhelm Frick, Minister of Interior, stated that the vote was not to be interpreted as an opportunity to pass judgment on Reichsfuehrer Hitler or his policies, but that the people were to fulfill their “duty” to “underline der Fuehrer’s confession of faith in Freedom and peace.”
