Oppression and persecution of Jews in Germany is “seemingly increasing,” the Archbishop of Canterbury writes in a letter published by the Times yesterday.
Describing as desperate the plight of refugees from the Reich, the Archbishop urges support of the campaign for $250,000 to be used for the relief of “non-Aryan” Christians forced to flee the country. The letter concludes with an appeal to the compassion of the British people to come to the aid of their fellow Christians “who, through no fault of their own, have been cast adrift into a world bereft of home and hope.”
