An address signed by 200 of the leading writers of the world was presented today to Dr. Sigmund Freud of Vienna, founder of psychoanalysis, on the occasion of his eightieth birthday Wednesday. Among the signers were H.G. Wells, Romain Rolland, Thomas Mann, Stefan Zweig, Virginia Woolf and Jules Romains.
The address congratulated Dr. Freud and paid homage to him as “the master whose discoveries opened the way to a new and more profound understanding of mankind.”
