Two of twenty members of the anti-Semitic National Democratic Party (Endeks) on trial for instigating anti-Jewish disorders at Odrzywol last November today were sentenced to eighteen months each in prison. They were specifically charged with having disarmed policemen who attempted to defend the Jews.
Three others were acquitted and the remaining fifteen were given suspended sentences.
The disorders for which the Endeks stood trial broke out when a mob of peasants surrounded the town after rumors that Jews were torturing priests. Police fired into the mob, wounding several persons.
Der Moment, Yiddish daily, reports today that anti-Semitic hooligans attacked and seriously injured Rabbi Isaac Heller in the city of Lodz. Rabbi Heller was reported paralyzed as a result of his injuries.
