The London Daily Star today reported that Nina Verchinina, member of the De Basil ballet, had refused to accompany the troupe on a trip to Berlin, where it is scheduled to perform.
Miss Verchinina, who is of “Aryan” descent, is quoted by the Star as protesting strongly against the treatment accorded Jewish artists by Nazi authorities. She will rejoin the troupe in New York.
