Police in Wiszonki Wibichi, a village 60 miles north of Warsaw, were investigating today an organized raid by 150 peasants, who took possession of the village and demolished Jewish houses and places of business.
The raid was led by an Endek landowner, who gave orders that Jewish property was to be destroyed but no Jews were to be attacked.
The incident occurred Friday night and police arrived on the scene yesterday morning. No arrests had been made tonight.
Organized in groups of ten, the night raiders took control of the village, ordered the 36 Jewish families residing there to evacuate their homes and then proceeded to demolish the property. They wrecked shops, tore down roofs of houses and tore up the floors.
Unable to offer resistance, the Jews sent their women, children and aged to the nearby town of Ciecanowiec. The men remained.
