Reich financial authorities have dismissed an application from a Jewish community for exemption from the corporation tax of a high-school for poor Jewish students, it is reported by the Juristische Wochenschrift, weekly organ of the Association of National Socialist Lawyers.
Officials decided that the school could be considered a public institution only if it served the welfare of the “Volksgemeinschaft” (the general German national community). However, it was stated, the promotion of higher education for “non-Aryans” does not come under such a judicial definition.
The Wochenschrift adds that any charitable institution in Germany which flouts the racial laws of the Third Reich cannot hope to obtain easement from taxation.
