All business managers of Jewish newspapers and publishing houses were ordered by the Reich Press Chamber today to communicate with Hans Hinkel, Nazi Commissar for “Non-Aryan” Culture, and await his instructions.
While no reason was given for the action, the order was interpreted as a move to transfer control of Jewish publications from the Propaganda Ministry to Mr. Hinkel. Similar notifications were expected to be sent to Jewish editors.
