“A Short History of Music” by Dr. Alfred Einstein will be published by Alfred A. Knopf on Jan. 4. The book had been regarded as a classic in Germany, but with the advent of the Nazis the German edition has been published in Holland. Dr. Einstein, former musical critic of the Berliner Tageblatt, lives in Florence. He is a distant relative of Dr. Albert Einstein, the scientist.
