The law restricting kosher slaughter went into effect throughout Poland today.

Jewish newspapers here published appeals to the Jews of Poland not to celebrate the New Year because it was a tragedy for 20,000 Jewish meat dealers, who will lose their livelihood as a result of the restrictions.
