A committee of prominent Jews formed to allocate relief funds received from abroad reported today in a communique on expenditure of $40,000 received from the Federation of Polish Jews in America.
It said the funds were distributed for constructive relief for artisans, small traders, Jewish farmers in Galicia, unemployed professionals, and as loans to cultural institutions, butchers suffering from new kosher slaughter restriction, religious Jews and a training camp for Jews intending to emigrate to Palestine.
The committee, which said it was conducting its work in complete harmony, includes Senator Moses Schorr, M. Shereshevsky, Deputies Sommerstein and Rubinstein, Dr. Henry Rosmarin, M. Weiss, M. Mendelsohn of the Bund, Jewish labor organization, and J.M. Lewin of the extreme orthodox Agudath Israel.
