Vladimir Jabotinsky, leader of the New Zionist Organization, charged today the Palestine Government had refused him a visa to enter the country because he intended to testify before the Royal Commission that the Government was responsible for recent disorders.
In a statement to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, he said:
“This was the only way to prevent me from performing an act of justice by showing the 1936 riots were due to the guilt of the Palestine Government, which I intended to do by quoting actual facts to illustrate this truth.”
Jabotinsky, who has been barred from Palestine for many years, was reported earlier in the week to have received permission to testify before the commission hearings in Jerusalem, but the Palestine Government refused to admit him into the country.
