Dr. Isaac Herzog, formerly Chief Rabbi of the Irish Free State, arrived here today to assume his duties as Chief Rabbi of the Askenazic Jewish Community of Palestine.

Dr. Herzog was greeted at Haifa by delegations representing the Jewish National Council, the Jewish Agency for Palestine, the Zionist Mizrachi Organization and the chief rabbinate.

Despite a cold rain, scores of orthodox Jews and rabbis met the party as it arrived on the outskirts of the city and escorted it the rest of the way.
