Quiet prevails in Palestine although general tension still exists, the House of Commons was told today by Colonial Secretary William Ormsby-Gore. Isolated cases of violence, he declared were due to criminal rather than political motives.
The Colonial Secretary said he had heard nothing of further Italian anti-British radio broadcasts to Palestine.
(A special clause in the new Anglo-Italian Mediterranean accord is said to contain promises by Italy not to engage in anti-British propaganda in the Near East.)
