Resolutions asking aid for the Jews in Poland and supporting Jewish immigration to Palestine, and covering several other social and economic issues, were adopted yesterday by the Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations at its seventeenth annual business meeting and luncheon at the Hotel Astor.
The 2,650 delegates heard Dr. Stephen S. Wise call the plight of the Jews in Poland “one of the most critical hours of one thousand years in Jewish history.” Other speakers included Dr. William E. McGrady, James G. McDonald and Mrs. Margaret Sanger.
Mrs. David E. Goldfarb, president of the federation for the past ten years, giving the annual report, said the federation had employed the “channels of education, legislation and community action” to accomplish its purposes.
