All insurance policies issued by the Palestine and Egyptian branches of the liquidated Phoenix Insurance Co. were invalidated in a law published today.

It was stated that losses among Jews would be enormous. Many German Jews had transferred their Phoenix policies from Germany to these branches.

The Phoenix Co., Austria’s largest underwriting company, was taken over by the Government for liquidation last March after irregularities in the conduct of its finances had been revealed. The revelations created a sensation at the time.
