Stringent Government measures will be taken against banks and large enterprises failing to comply with a Ministry of Labor request that they reshuffle their personnel so as to have 60 per cent of the employes “of Rumanian ethnic origin,” it was learned today. In its application, the request means elimination of Jewish employes and replacement by non-Jews.

The measures will make it impossible for such enterprises to discount their bills at the National Bank of Rumania, ban export and import permits and increase income taxes.

According to information obtained by a special Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent, these measures will be applied not only to non-Jewish enterprises, but to Jewish concerns as well.
