Representative Samuel Dickstein, New York, in an address in the House today, advised Poland to halt anti-Jewish excesses and adopt a more sympathetic attitude toward the Jews if it wished the sympathy of the world.
He reminded Poland of its obligations to the Jews in their aid in obtaining the country’s independence, and recalled Poland’s traditional tolerance of minorities. Poland gave an asylum to Jews when they were persecuted elsewhere, he said.
