A Propaganda Ministry communique said today that grants of land have been made to Falashas, Ethiopian Jews, by the Italian colonial authorities.
Reporting on a survey made by Carlo Alberto Viterbo, Jewish leader, on behalf of the Jewish communities in Italy and the Government, the communique said the authorities were establishing agricultural and handicrafts schools for the Falashas.
“The Falashas,” the communique declared, “are thankful to the new regime for their release from oppression and also for the improved status of religious freedom. They are ready to intensify their agricultural work and are confident they will be helped to raise the cultural and economic level.”
