Jewish students will now have the opportunity of entering universities abroad without passing the required “school certificate examination” in German universities, from which they are virtually barred.
A private Jewish school in Berlin owned by Dr. Leonore Goldschmidt has been authorized to examine Jewish students wishing to enter Cambridge University, England, or other foreign universities recognizing the Cambridge examination.
The arrangement is sanctioned by Education Minister Bernard Rust, who also authorized the school to issue on behalf of Cambridge the “certificates of proficiency in English” required in the United States and England for physicians and dentists wishing to practice.
