The ritual murder scare, a hardy perennial that achieves its greatest attention around Passover, was trotted out by Nationalists today in the town of Krasnigrad following the disappearance of a 14-year-old Christian girl.

The atmosphere of the town was so tense after spread of the Nationalist anti-Jewish rumors that Jews had killed the girl for ritual purposes that the authorities searched the Jewish cemetery there.

The girl’s body was subsequently recovered from the river. An inquest established accidental drowning as the cause of death.
