Letters Barred to Jewish Prisoners in Nazi Prison Camps

Nazi concentration camp officials are preventing Jewish prisoners from receiving or sending letters, it is indicated in a letter published today by the Manchester Guardian.

A letter from a Jewish prisoner in one of the camps to his mother declares:

“Jews released from ‘preventive custody’ have abused the humane treatment received by spreading stories in foreign countries of atrocities in concentration camps. The camp commandant has stopped all Jews from receiving or sending letters. I send you this communication at the bidding of the camp commandant requesting you not to send letters till further notice.”
