Tel Aviv Port Handled 44,238 Cargo Tons in 8 Months

In the eight months of its existence until February, 1937, the Tel Aviv seaport handled 44,238 tons of cargo, according to figures just issued here.

A record for one day’s unloadings was established on March 1 with 11,238 tons of merchandise taken off ships at sea and brought to the jetty in lighters. The port is also being increasingly used for citrus export, 195,874 cases having been loaded to date from Tel Aviv.
