Colonists in Beisan Area Get Baptism of Fire

Colonists who ventured into the terrorist-ridden Beisan area to extend the outposts of Jewish settlement in north-western Palestine received their baptism of fire today.

The newly established settlements of Ein Hakore and Hasadeh were fired upon. The colonists returned the gunfire. No casualties were reported.

Three persons sentenced to imprisonment in connection with outbreaks at Tiberias three months ago received amnesty today from High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope.

The Arabic press has reported that the Palestine Government planned various amnesties in connection with the coronation of King George VI in London.

Those who received clemency today are Eliahu Shoshan and Joseph Abdu, who had been sentenced to two years, and Carsenti, sentenced to one year.
