The twelfth printing of the Jewish Publication Society’s Bible Translation, making a total of 170,000 copies since the first edition in 1917, will be issued shortly, it was announced today. A carload of paper has already been ordered.
The translation was prepared by a committee including Dr. Solomon Schechter, the late president of the Jewish Theological Seminary; Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of Dropsie College, who was chairman of the editorial board, and Dr. Max L. Margolis, of Dropsie College, editor-in-chief and secretary of the board.
