Jewish religious and communal leaders in Palestine, including the chief rabbis, today gave the Jewish Telegraphic Agency a statement declaring to the Jews and to the world their opposition to any proposal for partitioning the Holy Land between Jews and Arabs.

“We proclaim our definite and firm stand against any proposal intending to limit or reduce Palestine’s boundaries by partition,” the statement said.

“The Jewish people, during thousands of years in exile, has never yielded its rights to the fatherland and will never yield a single foot of Palestine soil. We emphatically proclaim the complete and eternal right of the Jewish people to its fatherland within its historic boundaries and reject every consent to partition or other proposals affecting our rights.”
