LEONARD S. MONTEFIORE WAS UNANIMOUSLY RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE ANGLO-JEWISH ASSOCIATION IT A MEETING SUNDAY OF THE ASSOCIATION’S COUNCIL. MR. MONTEFIORE, SIR PHILIP MAGNUS AND LEONARD STEIN WERE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION ON THE JOINT FOREIGN COMMITTEE.

MR. MONTEFIORE, IN MOVING ADOPTION OF THE ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL REPORT, SAID THAT “WE HAVE CONTRIBUTED TOWARDS THE LOCALIZATION OF ANTI-SEMITISM, THE PREVENTION OF ITS SPREAD WESTWARD AND THE PROMOTION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE DOCTRINES OF RACIALISM.”

CHIEF RABBI J.H. HERTZ WARNED OF THE DANGER TO RELIGIOUS MINORITIES OF “THE RESUSCITATED AGITATION” FOR AN EIGHT-DAY WEEK, A PROPOSAL FOR WHICH WILL BE DISCUSSED BY THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS COUNCIL AT ITS SEPTEMBER MEETING.
