IT WAS REVEALED HERE TODAY THAT ITALY HAS NOT REPLIED TO GENERAL SECRETARY JOSEPH AVENOL’S NOTE ON GREAT BRITAIN’S REQUEST THAT THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS COUNCIL PERMIT THE PERMANENT MANDATES COMMISSION TO TAKE UP THE BRITISH ROYAL COMMISSION’S REPORT RECOMMENDING TRIPARTITION OF PALESTINE AT THE EXTRAORDINARY SESSION JULY 30.

SEVERAL GOVERNMENTS HAVE REPLIED TO MR. AVENOL’S LETTER, VOICING APPROVAL OF THE BRITISH PROPOSALS. POLAND, HOWEVER, RESERVED THE RIGHT TO CRITICIZE THEM AT A PLENARY SESSION.

THE MANDATES COMMISSION IS SCHEDULED TO CONSIDER THE MANDATORY’S DELAYED REPORT ON ITS PALESTINE STEWARDSHIP DURING 1936. SINCE, THE ROYAL COMMISSION’S REPORT AFFECTS THE MANDATE, PERMISSION OF THE COUNCIL IS NECESSARY BEFORE THE MANDATES COMMISSION MAY CONSIDER IT.
