SIX MILLION DRACHMAS (ABOUT $120,000) WOULD BE SPENT ON A HOUSING PROJECT TO RELIEVE A HOUSING SHORTAGE IN THE JEWISH QUARTER HERE UNDER A PLAN SUBMITTED TO THE GOVERNMENT AT ATHENS TODAY BY THE GOVERNOR OF MACEDONIA.

THE PROJECT PROVIDES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 250 DWELLINGS TO BE FINANCED BY A GRANT OF THREE MILLION DRACHMAS FROM THE GOVERNMENT, ONE MILLION FROM THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF SALONICA, AND THE REMAINDER TO BE RAISED BY A MORTGAGE.
