ANTI-JEWISH PERSECUTION IN POLAND WAS CONDEMNED TODAY BY THE ARCHBISHOPS OF CANTERBURY AND YORK AND THE BISHOP OF DURHAM, ENGLAND, IN MESSAGES TO THE SECOND WORLD CONFERENCE OF FEDERATIONS OF POLISH JEWS ABROAD.

THE 110 DELEGATES FROM 19 COUNTRIES ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE ALSO HEARD MESSAGES SENT BY SAMUEL UNTERMYER, NEW YORK ATTORNEY; SIR ARCHIBALD SINCLAIR AND COL. JOSIAH WEDGWOOD, BRITISH MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT; GEORGE LANSBURY, BRITISH PACIFIST, AND OTHERS.

AFTER THE SESSION HAD BEEN OPENED BY BENJAMIN WINTER OF NEW YORK, PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD FEDERATION OF POLISH JEWS ABROAD, REPRESENTATIVES FROM VARIOUS COUNTRIES REPORTED ON THE SITUATION OF THE POLISH JEWS. SPEAKERS INCLUDED ABRAHAM KANDEL OF NEW YORK, DR. I. M. NUERENBERGER OF BELGIUM ON THE FEDERATION’S ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST TWO YEARS; SHABBATAI WEISS OF TEL AVIV, ZELIG TYGEL OF NEW YORK ON ECONOMIC PROBLEMS OF THE POLISH JEWS; Z. LEIBER OF BELGIUM ON THEIR JURIDICAL POSITION, AND DR. JACOB TAUBES OF AMSTERDAM ON THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CONDITION OF THE POLISH JEWS.
