Ose Gave Medical Treatment to 70,000 Children Last Year

SEVENTY THOUSAND JEWISH CHILDREN RECEIVED MEDICAL TREATMENT LAST YEAR THROUGH THE WORLD OSE UNION, JEWISH HEALTH WELFARE ORGANIZATION, DR. A. BESREDKA, PRESIDENT OF OSE, POINTED OUT IN AN ADDRESS BEFORE THE ORGANIZATION’S CONGRESS REVIEWING A QUARTER-CENTURY OF ITS ACTIVITIES.

DR. BESREDKA ALSO NOTED THAT OSE DISTRIBUTED 40,000 MEALS, 630,000 BOTTLES OF MILK, 5,000 KILOGRAMS OF SOAP AND 7,000 KILOGRAMS OF FOODSTUFFS TO SCHOOL CHILDREN DURING THE YEAR, AND THAT 70,000 CHILDREN VACATIONED AT OSE HOLIDAY HOMES.

DR. L. GOURVITCH, GENERAL SECRETARY OF THE ORGANIZATION, REPORTING ON ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST THREE YEARS, ANNOUNCED THAT OSE HAD HELPED ESTABLISH 299 JEWISH PHYSICIANS FROM GERMANY ABROAD WITH THEIR FAMILIES, TOTALLING ABOUT 1,250 PERSONS. HE VOICED APPRECIATION OF THE CORDIAL RELATIONS EXISTING BETWEEN OSE AND JEWISH SOCIAL WORK ORGANIZATIONS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE JOINT DISTRIBUTION COMMITTEE.
