TWO CHURCH DIGNITARIES TODAY FOLLOWED THE LEAD OF PATRIARCH MIRON CHRISTEA IN DENOUNCING THE JEWS AS ” A PLAGUE” AND DEMANDING MEASURES TO RID RUMANIA OF THEM.

ARCHDEACON JON MOTA OF ORASTIE SUGGESTED THAT THE JEWS BE ” ISOLATED AND BURNED OUT” LIKE WEEDS WHILE BISHOP TIT OF HOTIN URGED AN ANTI-JEWISH BOYCOTT UNDER THE SLOGAN, ” NOT A PIN FROM A JEW.”

MEANWHILE, THE MINISTRIES OF JUSTICE AND INTERIOR INSTRUCTED PROVINCIAL COURTS TO TAKE IMMEDIATE STEPS FOR THE REVISION OF ALL NATURALIZATIONS SINCE THE WAR, RE-EXAMINATION OF THE NATIONAL REGISTER AND NOTIFICATION OF THE JUSTICE MINISTRY ABOUT ALL NATURALIZATIONS WHOSE VALIDITY WERE DOUBTFUL.

ARCHDEACON MOTA’S STATEMENT WAS IN REPLY TO A NEWSPAPER’S QUESTIONNAIRE ON METHODS GETTING RID OF THE JEWS. HE COMPARED THE JEWS TO AN ATTACK OF SCABIES, FOR WHICH HE SUGGESTED A DISINFECTING TREATMENT.

“THE SAME TREATMENT SHOULD BE APPLIED TO OUR DEAR JEWS,” HE SAID. ” I ADVISE RUMANIANS TO DO WITH THE JEWS WHAT THE PEASANT DOES WHEN HIS PLANTS ARE THREATENED BY WEEDS OR WHEN HE SUFFERS FROM SCABIES. WEEDS SHOULD BE ISOLATED AND BURNED OUT AND SCABIES DESTROYED BY DRASTIC RUBBING.”

HE ADDED THAT THE NEXT BEST THING WAS TO FOLLOW THE PLAN OF ” THE GREAT MASTER, HITLER” IN DEALING WITH THE JEWS.

BISHOP TIT IN AN ARTICLE IN CURENTUL ENTITLED ” THE JEWISH PLAGUE,” EXPRESSED OPPOSITION TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A JEWISH STATE AND HELD THAT THE JEWS WERE A MENACE TO RUMANIA.
